The prototype of a company that I (J.Boersema) was really honestly going to incorporate and make into something. So I guess this is how at least I would honestly do it, giving new employees a one year try out period after which they become full owner-members. There is no entity 'above' that, there is no distinction between a founder or a longer serving member and someone who is in it more then one year. This is obviously not the only way to do it. It would be fine as far as the system is concerned to run it as a dictatorship, because it is a start-up.
