Until capitalism is defeated, every nation will be run by its least moral yet still competent people. Capital investment is most profitable where labor is abused: company-profit = costs - turnover. The entire field of economics is a false field of science at the moment. Every one of those pretence scientists in the economics field, with few exceptions (the ones who oppose the rule of capitalism is some way or the other?) don't belong at universities. Litterally you should fire them en masse, even the good ones who can later be re-hired on examination of past performance (my guess it that would be no more then 5% of the total now working there). Everyone who gets an economics degree of any kind in the future should have it marked somehow, that differenciates it from the past fake science. Hence, every scientist in whatever field of study, from law to anthropology, from science to medicine: they are all more qualified to think about the economic question then are trained economists. Because trained economists have been trained into something that is wrong and didn't even notice it. Hence they think wrong, bad enough, and have lost their credibility for not noticing (they don't have an academic thinking / working level.) I think it is doubtful we will be able to solve any environmental challange if the least moral people in every nation are those making its major decisions. What is the distance from abusing people to abusing animals, to abusing plants and to abusing the entire planet ? Therefore all scientists of all directions, from physics to chemistry, should look into the isue of economics. One thing to keep in mind with economics: your subjects are humans, you can not change their behavior as if it is a machine, and you can not think away the problems of dumbness and crime. http://www.socialism.nl contains a real science of economics that will imho work. Once we have agreed that its criticism of the plan-economy, feudalism and capitalism is correct, and that its basic proposal which flows rational from a rational theory of economics (trade in effort, not power) for a new great socio-economic experiment (Democratic Authorities, Ventures, Investments, Demarcations, DAVID for short) shows enough promise, we should work to implement it. After the agreement the law sector of science should take on itself the task of writing the laws that put the new model into law, which after all is its task. The task of economists is to think about economics, the task of law is to put it into law. I already proposed a complete constitution for the DAVID model proposed, so that can then be part of that effort. (It's not possible to let elitists fiddle with the knobs of society, they will do it wrong and they will leave too much room for corruption to keep pooring in from all sides.) Once that is fixed, it's time to implement the new model in real life. You might say that is the sector of politics and anthropology and the social sciences. I already also made extensive planning for this area, although with correct laws in place it probably won't go wrong anymore one way or the other. Still it is a very big operation and if it isn't done right there is a high risk that how it happens will impinge negatively on the laws (the laws may get changed). Only once we are there do we have some hope that there are people in power who will work for the common interest, and do something about the various ecological challanges. This is our failure as a species, because we should have arrived at a correct economics millenia ago, we should have arrived at true democracy millenia ago. -- http://www.socialism.nl
